Burundi Gakenke Washed
Burundi Gakenke offers a unique flavour profile that delights the palate with notes of caramel, lemon and black tea. This washed coffee is the result of the work of approximately 1 780 smallholder farmers in the village of Gatara in Kayanza province, each of whom grows an average of 250 coffee trees.
The Gakenke processing station, founded in 1991, plays a key role in the processing of this exceptional coffee. Located at an altitude of 1 670 metres, it has 224 drying beds with a capacity to process up to 750 tonnes of coffee per season. Precise processing methods contribute to its succulent texture and floral complexity.

The caramelised sweetness creates a rich and smooth base, which is complemented by fresh citrus notes reminiscent of lemon. Subtle undertones of black tea add depth and a refined finish, making this coffee an unforgettable treat for speciality lovers.
This coffee is a testament to the dedication of Burundian farmers and the importance of collaboration in the production of high quality Specialty coffees.
