Rukira AA is like a fruit festival hidden in a coffee bean. From the hills of Kenya, from the small coffee farms of Nyeri, it comes with an energy that will get you up on your feet, but also caress your palate at the same time.

This coffee is produced by the Othaya Farmer Cooperative Society – a community of small farmers farming small farms, often less than one hectare, who work together to bring the best that Aberdare’s soil has to offer.

The hand-picked cherries are delivered by the farmers directly to the Rukira water mill – careful sorting ensures that only perfect, ripe fruit goes to processing. They then go through the ‘fully washed’ process: pulping, fermenting, washing, drying – all with an eye for purity and quality.

This coffee is ideal filtering and in the cup you will find an elegant mix of tastes: the plummy mirabelle complements the freshness of the citrus and behind them the floral scent of roses, which softens the whole scene like a good movie soundtrack.
